Gerald Simon Goldstein, 81, of Marietta, passed away on July 13, 2017. He was born in Boston on March 27, 1936 to parents, Rena and Kalman. Gerald served in the Air Force before beginning his career with the US Forest Service until his retirement in 1986. He was very involved with the Youth Conservation Corps. Gerald enjoyed playing softball, chess, bowling, and bridge. Gerald was loved and well cared for until the very end, and he delighted in watching game shows with his care givers. One of his signature catch phrases was, “Good Deal.” He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gayle Savoca Goldstein; sons, Kevin and Mark; sister, Lee Fich; brother, Neal (Fran); and his grandson, Kevin Austin. Visitation will be held at H.M. Patterson, Canton Hill Chapel on July 19th at 5:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at H.M. Patterson, Canton Hill Chapel, on July 20th at noon, a committal service will follow at Cheatham Hill Cemetery.
