A graduate of Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg, VA 1979 and University of South Carolina, BA in 1983. A member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and he was a Gamecock fan. His business career in the wine and spirits industry was focused mainly in the southeast, working in market management and retail sales.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maureen of Marietta, two daughters, Campbell Davis (Frank) and Morgan Kernodle both of Charleston, S.C., mother, Lucy Wilson Kernodle; brothers, John Charles Kernodle (Sarah) of Charlotte, NC, Bob Kernodle (Christiana) of Burlington, NC, William Kernodle (Anne) of Charlotte, NC; sister, Lucy Kernodle West (Ed) of Wilmington, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Donald Kernodle Sr., grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Kernodle of Ossipee, NC and Mr. and Mrs. John H. Wilson of Brevard, NC.
A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Mt. Zion Methodist Church, 1770 Johnson Ferry Road Marietta, GA . Memorial may be made to Mt. Zion Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
