Dennis, I have known you and your family all of my life and I can't express to you how sorry a I am for your loss. I know your daughter was a bright young lady with an amazing future ahead. I’m so sorry for your loss.  Although I didn’t know your daughter, I remember you mentioning her with such love in your voice.  God loves the little children and I’m sure she was welcomed to heaven by our Savior.  If she had even an inkling of the personality you have, she will be sorely missed. Even though I didn't really know you I remember when we were talking at cadet orientation and you were telling me how excited you were for the military ball and how you were excited to do NJROTC. When you joined ROTC you were instantly a family member. Everyone in ROTC is family and you will always be in our hearts. I miss you and I will play for you! I love you💖

Dear Gaskin Family,
My heart is so very broken for this unexpected loss. I was Denise's librarian at Durham Middle. I rarely recall her without a smile. I witnessed the great love and loyalty she had for her friends over the three years she graced the DMS halls, and I had the benefit of seeing  her in classes when I taught alongside her classroom teachers. My family and I also live in your neighborhood, and my children rode Denise's school bus. My daughter, Bayley, took a picture of Denise in her ROTC uniform as she made her way from the bus towards Allatoona on the morning of the day she passed. She was beautiful and smiling, of course. My family and I are keeping you constantly in our prayers. Please know how much you are cared for. Your community is here to support you in any way we can.

Denise was always a sweet friend to my son. He is full of energy and not many were nice to him. She was one of the few that accepted him. When I would drop him off at school at Durham she would come running  (literally) to try to be the first one to give him a hug. That meant so much to this mamas heart. I missed her this year since they were at different HS. I will miss her genuine smile and,
“ hello William’s Mom “ in the hallways. While our hearts are broken, I can not imagine how her family feels.
