Daniel Patrick Kenney passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024. He is preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Kenney. He is survived by wife, Mary (Thomas) Kenney; his daughters, Bethany and Rachel Kenney; his parents, Robert and Kathleen Kenney; and his brother, Michael Kenney.
Dan was a hard-working man who dedicated his life to supporting his family. He was at his happiest travelling with family, discussing the mysteries of the universe at the dinner table, and napping with a cat on his lap. Dan was quiet but privately humorous, with a commitment to making others laugh. Friends and family knew him as an avid music enthusiast; no musical discussion was complete without commentary about his beloved favorite band, Hum. Dan’s heart for service shone through his volunteer work at North Metro Miracle League in Acworth. While Dan was typically reserved, Coach Dan was an outgoing, encouraging, goofy presence who knew how to bring smiles to players and fellow coaches alike. He will be remembered for all he gave to others.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, September 7th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bascomb United Methodist Church, at 2295 Bascomb Carmel Rd. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM.
