Cheryl Judith Chastain

Cheryl Judith Crews Chastain was born Friday, June 13, 1947 in Macon, Georgia, to Mary Ruth McWhorter Crews and C.M. Crews. She grew up in a military family, and during high school, settled in Marietta on Hedges Street with her grandparents. It was during this time she met her husband of 60 years, Samuel Ray Chastain. Cheryl married into the Chastain family on March 18, 1964 and began her life with Sam in Smyrna. They built their first home in Kennesaw where they raised three children: Samuel, Whitney & Paula. The Chastains were active in the Methodist Church and valued their time with friends and family. Cheryl worked at People's Financial of Marietta for 35 years, and in the auto industry as a title agent. She and Sam completed their dream home in Powder Springs in 2001, where they resided until her death on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. She is survived by her husband Sam; eldest son Samuel, his wife Tracy and their son, Roman; son Whitney; daughter Paula Zaimis, her husband Harry Zaimis, their children Niko and Sam Zaimis; a younger sister, Donna Pacheco; as well as countless nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Carmichael Funeral Home, 1130 Whitlock Ave, Marietta on Thursday, December 5, 2024 where visitors will be received from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Carmichael Friday, December 6, 2024 at 12 noon.
