Carol Elizabeth Johnson was born in Marietta, Georgia on January 12, 1942 to the late Newt and Minnie Kemp. At the young age of two, Carol’s family moved to New York. Carol graduated from James Monroe High School in the Soundview section of the Bronx, New York City. After graduation, Carol began working for the New York Answering Service until she relocated back to Marietta, Georgia with her children. Carol retired after working many years at Home Depot. She enjoyed traveling, dancing and most of all, spending time with her family.
Carol Johnson was a very loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally; through good and bad, thick and thin, but more importantly, Carol loved God First. She attended Mount Paran North. Carol always said, “God is the head, he’s at the top, as long as God is at the top, everything else will follow”. She always provided guidance to her family with God in mind and was always there in their time of need. There was nothing she would not do for her family and she was very much loved in return.
She departed this life peacefully on October 28, 2020 and leaves to mourn her passing; Husband Jimmy (Preceded in death), daughters Linda Cox (Garner), Lisa Nelloms (Renwick), Kimberly Jordan (Terrell), Tonya Mack (Richard), Telisa Tyler (preceded in death), Tammy McMillan (Jeffrey), and sons Andre’ Johnson, Erike’ Johnson (Preceded in death), Tyrike Johnson and Gabriel Johnson; Sister, Valerie Kemp and sister in law, Clara Keith (Stanley). Brother, Gerard Kemp (preceded in death) and grandchildren Shawn, Brandi, Crystal, Kierstin, Ke’Yarna, Corie, Brittani, Jayd, Ivey, RJ, DeMarco, Tamira, Jessica, Jacoby, Jeremy, Christopher, Sherrod, Anthony, Erije’, Erika, and Kaleb; 25 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews: Special nieces, Gervonni and Gina Kemp, and relatives: Special Loving Cousin, Barbara McClendon and a devoted friend, Harold Hill.
