He was a native of Goldsboro, NC then moved to Clinton, SC. After graduating from Presbyterian College in 1960 he relocated to Smyrna where he started Pierce Insurance Agency. He sold that business in 1991 and became a Bailiff in the Cobb County Courts System for Judge Dorothy Robinson until her retirement. He was a founding member of Smyrna Pentecostal Holiness Church and he was also a member of the Lions Club.
Survived by his wife of 73 years, Bobbie Hughes Pierce; sons, Durwood Pierce and his wife, Tommie Sue Pierce, Norman Pierce and his fiancé, Lisa Robbins; grandchildren, Adam Pierce and his wife Anne Pierce, Joel Pierce, Laura-Anne Ullian and her husband, Dave Ullian; great grandchildren, Clayton, Emmett, Georgia; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday March 25 at 2 PM in the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Burgess officiating. Interment will following Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 4 until 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
