Bobby Lee Free Jr.

Mr. Bobby Lee Free, Jr., 67 of Canton died Monday, December 27, 2021. Bob was born in Rome, GA and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a member of the Pipefitters Union Local #72 and also worked at Lockheed in Marietta for many years as a maintenance welder. Later in life, he became a deputy with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department, retiring in 2010. Bob honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a member and Past Master of Alpharetta Lodge #235 F&AM in Alpharetta. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Bobby “Tub” Free, Sr. and MaeRhina Fitzsimmons Free as well as a sister, Terry Free. Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nancy Free of Canton; daughter, Heather Emerson (Tim) of Seneca, SC; sister, Lisa Lee (Kevin) of Acworth, GA; brother, Greg Free, Sr. of Rome, GA; two grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sosebee Funeral Home in Canton, GA. A private burial will take place at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to: Masonic Home of Georgia, P.O. Box 4183 Macon, GA 31208.
