Mr. Billy D. Bean USAF, Ret.

Mr. Billy D. Bean, USAF Ret., age 78, of Marietta, passed away June 7, 2010. Mr. Bean was born in Pelham, AL to the late John Lawrence Bean and Jessie Lee Elliott Bean. He medically retired from the USAF in 1966 after tours of duty in Korea, Japan, and other Air Bases throughout the United States. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 35 years, Frances Bean; his daughter, Mary Sue Bean; sister, Nellie B. Barnes, and grandson, Andy Gunby.

He is survived by his children, Bertin (Yvette) Bean of Canton, Robert (Laura) Touchstone of Montgomery, AL, Robbie (Bob) Huff of Douglasville, Sheila (Russell) Madden of Elberton, Sherry Touchstone of Marietta; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 9 at 11:00 AM in Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Rob Touchstone officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 8 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org in the name of Mr. Billy D. Bean.
