Betty Gracia Todd, 86 years of age, passed away in peace on January 3, 2024 at Wellstar Community Hospice Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain in Marietta, Georgia. She was born November 5,1937 in Caguas, Puerto Rico, to her parents, Guillermo Gracia Zayas, and Marcelina Rolon.
Betty graduated from Jose Gautier Benitez High School in Caguas, PR in 1956. She received a Secretarial diploma from College of Commerce in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico in 1958. Also in 1975 she was certified as an executive secretary at the I.D.E. College in Barcelona, Spain.
Upon certification she held secretarial positions for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, National Cash
Register Co., Law Office of Juan M. Soto Sola, R&D Advisors Inc., and E.C.I.S.D. She was a
Sunday school teacher for Barbara Ann Roessler Memorial Church in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, and
Christian College of The Americas in Odessa, Texas. She also, volunteered her time with
Birthright of Odessa for an extended period of time. Betty studied at Christ For The Nations,
Dallas, Texas from 1991 to 1993 to prepare for missionary work. She worked as a missionary in
Mexico, Belarus, Germany, and Jamaica.
Betty married Bob G. Todd, who was the “Love” of her life, June 1, 1983. She adored and loved Bob for the next 25 years until Bob passed away on Feb. 18, 2009. She loved her church family at Barbara Ann Roessler Memorial Church in Puerto RIco, and Grace Christian Fellowship in Odessa, Texas. She dearly loved all her children and grandchildren with all of her heart. Her greatest passion was following Jesus thru daily Bible studies, praying, and caring for people, whom she greatly cherished.
Betty is survived by her children Ruben Verdu, and his wife Esperanca Urdeix of Barcelona, Spain, and Ferran Verdu of Dallas, Georgia, and his wife Adriana Verdu of Manizales, Colombia. Grandchildren Jasper Verdu, Nanuk Verdu, and Boris Verdu. Step-children Susan Estelle Redman of Odessa, Texas, John-Britt Todd of Midland, Texas, and Ellen Todd-Good of Lubbock, Texas. Step-grandchildren Alexander D. Good and Georgia K. Redman. Godson Barney Noll, and wife Mary Ellen Noll. Goddaughter Snezanha Noll, and husband Ricki Calder, and granddaughter Rachel Noll. Extended family Yolanda Perez Rivera and her children Goddaughter Lizzie Christensen, Carlos Bigles, Camille Fulton, and Jorge Bigles. Olga Perez and her children Giovanna Batista and Jorge Batista. Magda Perez and daughter Noelle Boria. Extended church family Clark and Michele Racca, Tim and Debbie Proctor, Jane Hext, Jo Stearns, Lily Arenas and Peter Vileli, Colette and Shirin Milika. Many other christian brothers and sisters.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 12 noon-C.S.T. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Grace Christian Fellowship, located at 3450 Billy Hext Rd, Odessa, Texas, 79765. Pastor Clark Racca will officiate her service. Her Committal Service,will be at Sam Houston National Cemetery, at a later date.
