She was born in Maryville, Tennessee, the daughter of Huse Rogers and Charity Anna Graves Rogers. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Merrill McCrea Butler and siblings, Tina Kurosky, Elizabeth “Liz” Peterson, Oatha Rogers and Pauline “Polly” Smith.
She is survived by sisters Georgia Irwin and Norma Sloan, both of Maryville, Tennessee; children Kathy Law and husband Scott of Smyrna, Tennessee, Cory McCrea Butler of Live Oak, Florida; grandchildren Chariti Law Skinner of Knoxville, Tennessee, Jarad Law of Nashville, Tennessee, Katlyn Butler Sullivan and Morgan Butler both of Statesboro, Georgia, and two great-grandchildren, Isabella Kate Skinner and Mabry Jade Skinner both of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Betty was most currently a resident of the Waterford Assisted Living Facility in Smyrna, Tennessee. She enjoyed her friends there and sitting on the porch, sharing laughs and stories with friends and family.

Betty’s entombment will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia alongside her husband.
