Barbara Sue Lee Berry

Barbara Sue Lee Berry, aged 69, passed quietly into heaven 25 June 2014 surrounded by family with the sun shining on her face. Sue was a lifelong resident of Cobb County and the daughter of Roy Richard Lee and Nina Gail Kalb of Marietta, both having preceded her in death. Sue was a medical transcriptionist and worked at WCOH in Newnan for several years as well. “Granny” or “Gran” was always there for you if you needed to talk, jitterbug or just play a game. She was strong-willed, hard-headed, beautiful, funny, sweet and spiritual. She has always been a symbol of strength and courage to her family and friends.

Sue is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Robin Sue & Lewis Phillips and Andrea Leigh & Robert Sobotor. Grandchildren: Robert Asbury (& Saralyn) Phillips, William Tyler Phillips, Jacob Louis Phillips, Kathryn Susannah Phillips, Matthew Lee Kehler Sobotor, Robert Jonathan Sobotor and Christopher Michael Sobotor. Great-Grandson: Brock Asbury Phillips. Sisters: Lois Rebecca Powell who preceded her in death and Nina Gayle Johnson who resides in Braselton, GA as well as several nieces and nephews. Special Thanks to the staff at Kennestone Hospital, especially Dr. Carmen Klass and Nurse Tonya Bradford who gave so much comfort to our family. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to honor Sue, who was such an amazing mother and giving person, by doing something special for your own mom. That would make her smile in heaven. Services will be Sunday morning, 11:00 a.m., June 29 at HM Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel 1157 Old Canton Rd, Marietta, GA 30068. Sue’s nephew, Ivy B. Johnson IV, will be officiating.
