Her early education was received at The Girls’ High School, Brooklyn, N.Y. Later, she earned a Bachelor of Arts from Mercy College.
She married Irving Wellington Samuels in September 1950. Four children were born to this union, Ronald F. Samuels, Richard L. Samuels, Robert M. Samuels and Lynne D. (Samuels) Ruff.
She was a dedicated mother, lover of travel, bridge and the arts. She retired from The Bank of New York in April 1989. From that time, her focus turned to bridge and travel. Her final trip was a Caribbean cruise in 2014. Words from Audrey’s high school yearbook captured her well: “To know her well is worth your while.” She was a wise woman with a unique perspective on life and a particular sense of humor.
She is survived by four children, their spouses and five grandchildren: Cody, Aaron, Emma, Devin and Alexis. Audrey will be missed by children, grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.
