AshLeigh Brooke Tesch was born on September 16, 1976 In Moultrie, Georgia. She is the daughter of Warren and Kay Tesch. A very happy child who welcomed her little sister, Amber Kelly, just 22 months later. They quickly became inseparable as AshLeigh assumed the role of the big sister, protector and teacher to her little sister. This relationship continued throughout her 45 years on this earth as they complemented and supported each other’s goals and dreams.
AshLeigh Brooke graduated from Northwest Whitfield High School in 1995 and enrolled at West Georgia College. After her freshman year, she decided to pursue her love of hair styling and attended Cosmetology at Alternative Visions in Chattanooga, TN. After obtaining her Cosmetology license, she loved making clients happy while working as a stylist at hair salons in Dalton, Alpharetta, and Cumming, GA.
In 2013, she met the love of her life, Cliff Aycock, and they were united in marriage on June 22, 2018. They complemented each other extremely well with AshLeigh being the financial conservative and Cliff’s desire to fulfill all of AshLeigh’s dreams. They were like peanut butter and jelly, fulfilling each other’s goals and dreams. AshLeigh patiently waited 40 years to find the right life partner and she did when she found Cliff.
In late 2020, AshLeigh became ill. Within a few months it became apparent that she needed a liver and kidney transplant which she received at Piedmont Hospital Transplant Center in July 2021. Over the next two months she overcame many difficulties. She progressed successfully, both medically and physically, with the help of multiple therapies. While her battles were difficult, she remained extremely positive and looked forward to coming home within a few days. But, God had a different plan and unexpectedly took her to her heavenly home on September 26, 2021. There’s no pain where she is now and the only scars in heaven are in the hands that hold her now.
AshLeigh had a small tattoo that simply said “Live Your Dash”. That was her life’s motto. We will all have a date of birth and a date of death which are separated by a series of dashes. She believed that those dashes represented all the time we spend alive on earth. For it matters not, how much we own, the cars….the house….the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. To be less quick to anger and show more appreciation and more love for the people in our lives. If we treat each other with respect and more often with a smile……remembering that this special dash might only last a little while. AshLeigh would ask each of us to remember our dash each and every day of our lives.
AshLeigh was preceded in death by her sister, Kelly Virginia; her grandparents, Brooke and Ginnie Adam and Emil and Tilla Tesch; and several loved aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband, Cliff Aycock; parents, Warren and Kay Tesch; sister, Amber Kelly Morris; and brother-in-law Travis Morris; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
