Edgar William Fay, 91 , went home to the Lord on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 in Tamarac, FL. He was born March 25th, 1927 in Bronx, New York to William Thomas Fay and Mary Agnes Fay, where he spent his youth and enlisted in the US Army in 1944.
He served during World War II, the Korean War when he honorably received the Silver Star for heroic action and the Purple Heart, and completed his military career as First Sergeant during the Vietnam War retiring after 22 years on 31 October 1967.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doreen Mary Fay. He also leaves four children, Gregory Joseph Fay, Lesley Ann Fay, Jeffrey Arthur Fay (D) and Thomas William Fay (D); three step-children, Kathy Kinsley, Thomas Shearer and Daniel Shearer. Eight grandchildren, Michael Guidotti (Fay), Paul Guidotti (Fay), Gregory Joseph Fay, Jr, Sean Christopher Fay, Jason Edgar Fay, Nicholas Fay, Katie Fay and Andrew Fay. Five step-grandchildren, Ryan Kinsley, Eric Kinsley, Jason Kinsley, and Megan Kinsley, and Michael Shearer. Six Great grandchildren, Ryan Guidotti, Mason Guidotti, Lily Guidotti, Eian Fay, Sydney Fay, and August Christopher Su Yi Fay. Two Step-Great grandchildren, Kaiya Kinsley and Dax Kinsley.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion Post 157 Margate, FL where he was the Sergeant of Arms of the Honor Guard for many years. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Ed was a honorable, hardworking, loving man and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; he always led by example.
