Marie V. Stahmann

Marengo—Marie V. Stahmann, 100, of Marengo passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Hearthstone Manor in Woodstock.

She was born November 22, 1911 in Township of Carey, Wisconsin to Charles and Exilda (Duclos) Chartier. On March 28, 1932 she married Alfred A. Stahmann in Chicago.

Marie lived in Chicago for many years before moving to Marengo, where she lived for over 35 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Rosarians. In her younger years she was also a member of the French Club in Chicago and was an active member at St. Pascal Catholic Church in Chicago.

She is survived by her son, Alfred (Charlene) Stahmann; her daughter-in-law, Lili Stahmann; her grandchildren, Chuck (Diane) Stahmann, Cherie Garcia, Michelle (Joe) Stahmann-Holler, Mike Stahmann, Cristi Kinney, Mark (Christina) Stahmann, and Eric Stahmann; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, and her son, Charles.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Tuesday, May 1, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway, Marengo. Visitation will continue from 9:30am to the 10am prayers on Wednesday, May 2 at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo.

Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
