Lionel T. DeGrand Jr., 65, of Marengo, IL passed away on February 28, 2022 at UW Health University Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on September 29, 1956 in Chicago, IL to the late Lionel Sr. and Connie (Baranski) DeGrand. He was the owner of CountrySide Builders in Marengo after taking over for his father in 1996. He loved fishing, golfing, tinkering with cars and trucks, beaches and spoiling his dogs rotten.
Lionel is survived by his loving wife Wendy DeGrand and daughter Stephanie (Maxwell Reese) Vich; dear granddaughter Madelynne Reese; sister Gail (Howard) Andrews; brothers Mark (Sandy) DeGrand and Roger (Vicki) DeGrand; brother-in-law Frank (Cindi) Burton; nieces Bethany, Kristin, and Maggie; and many cousins, extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; nephew Richie DeGrand; and niece Lauren DeGrand.
Visitation will be held on March 5, 2022 from 1pm-5pm at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E Grant Hwy, Marengo, IL 60152. Funeral service to follow at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund at www.kidneyfund.org.
