John Edward Moravec II

John Edward Moravec II, 84, of Marengo, Illinois, passed away on February 25, 2022. John was born on December 24, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Agnes Moravec. In 1955 John graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst, IL. On September 24, 1960, John married the love of his life, Marlene Moravec. In 1971 John and Marlene moved to Marengo, Illinois and built their home together. Before retiring John was a machinist for over 30 years and owned and operated JDM Auto Service in Huntley, Illinois.

John is survived by his children, Theresa (Bryan) Kennedy, John (Yvette) Moravec III, Christine (Thomas) Mahon, and James (Robin) Moravec; grandchildren, Danielle, Bryan, Deanne, Nathan, John IV, Bethany, Haley, Cheryl, Michelle, Thomas III, James II, Amanda, and Marlene; great grandchildren, Dane, Declan, Tegan, Evelyn, Kristen, Justin, James III, Quinton, and Kendall. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Moravec; parents, John and Agnes Moravec; sister, Agnes (Jerry) Loar.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 4pm to 8pm at Marengo-Union Funeral Home (505 E. Grant Hwy, Marengo, IL 60152). Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marengo, IL. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Marengo, IL.
