Born on October 8, 1928 to Frank and Ethel (Shallcross) Haubold. Frank was born in Chicago and lived also in Indiana. He joined the US Army in 1954 and served honorably during the Korean conflict. He met Maribeth J. Bartusch and they married in 1965 in Chicago and settled in Wonder Lake, IL in 1968. He was a carpenter most of his life and worked for himself building homes for many families in northern IL and various carpentry firms in the Chicago area. Frank was a longtime member of Wonder Lake Bible Church, and enjoyed ushering and volunteering.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sybilla Prince, and grandson Austin Haubold.
He is survived by his wife, Maribeth, with whom he celebrated 51 years of marriage; and sons, Donald (Nancy) Haubold of Genoa City, WI, Thomas (Karin) Haubold of Woodstock, IL, and Randall Haubold of Woodstock, IL; and a daughter, Gayle (Walter) Curran, as well as 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; his brother, Leigh Sportun and his sister, Janeann Peele.
Visitation Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Memorial Service at Wonder Lake Bible Church, 7511 Howe Road, Wonder Lake, IL. Memorials may be made in Frank’s memory to Wonder Lake Bible Church. Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL, on May 27, 2017.
