Dennis James Vance

Dennis J. Vance, 73 of Marengo, passed away peacefully September 4, 2016 in Chicago. Born on January 1, 1943 in Chicago; he was the son of Laurence and Henrietta (DeVoe) Vance. He married Grace A. Chase on September 27, 1969 in Wheaton, IL.

A proud Marine Corp Veteran, Dennis retired from the packaging industry after 39 years of employment. He was a member of Marine Corp League Detachment #1316 of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

A mentor to many people, Dennis had a love for art and music. An avid Green Bay Packers fan, he also enjoyed gardening, golf, photography and especially spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Grace A. Vance; sons, Todd (Michael Silvestri), Marc (Amy) and Eric (Lisa) Vance; grandchildren, Tristan, Heather, Jacob and Hannah; sister, Virginia Collins; brother, Gerald Vance; aunt, Margaret Hetzel and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Vance and infant sister, Karen Vance
