Dawn M. Gaylord

Dawn Gaylord, age 55, of Marengo, Illinois passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022.

She was born March 15, 1967 to Gerald and Ann Gaylord.

Dawn worked for Mecum Auctions and traveled all over the country for her job. Her favorite places to be were at the beach, sitting on her swing enjoying the country views from her backyard, or gathered around a bonfire with family and friends. If she had to be in the house, you can guarantee she was watching the movie Grease, which was her absolute favorite. Dawn also enjoyed the companionship of many dogs throughout the years but most recently her cherished Shiba Inus, Yazhi and Oakley.

If you were lucky enough to really know Dawn, then you know she had a fun loving sense of humor with a twist of sarcasm, which made her loved by all. Dawn was a warrior and a breast cancer survivor. She had a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed, but never ever forgotten.

Dawn will be greatly missed by her son, Luke Hemphill; her life partner, Doug Grossen, and his daughter, Lauren (Gage Finch) Grossen, and her daughter, Avery Finch ; her dad, Gerald (Patty) Gaylord; her siblings, Jerry Gaylord, Cindy (Erik) Carlson, Bill (Paula) Gaylord; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann.

There will be a memorial gathering from 4 to 8pm on Tuesday, December 20 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo.
