Darlene was born April 25th, 1926. Her whole life was devoted to her husband of 64 years, Mickey, deceased, and to her children: Michael (Elizabeth) Zito, Timothy (Joanne) Zito, Anne, deceased, Marilynn (Sonny) Bracco, Jeanne (Robert, deceased) McDaniel, and Claire (Daniel) Smunt. Darlene was preceded in death by her loving brothers Donald (Pat, deceased) Obrill, and Thomas, (Barbara, deceased) Obrill. She is also survived by ten loving grandchildren, and by thirteen loving great grandchildren. Darlene is survived by seventeen nephews and nieces.
Despite her large family Darlene always made time for everyone. She always provided cheerful support and love for her family. She and her husband Mickey worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids. And she could never cease boasting about her grandchildren and great grandchildren to everyone.
Darlene was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Melrose Park for 50 years, and of Sacred Heart in Marengo for 25 years. She was active in the PTA, Rosary Society, the St. Joseph Table, and other groups and functions at both Sacred Heart parishes, and more recently, she was part of the lay volunteers who donated their time and services to assist the Sacred Heart Church in Marengo for various functions.
At her request, a Funeral Mass service will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 323, N. Taylor St., Marengo, Illinois, on April 22nd, 2022, at 11:00 am.
Interment will be at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside, Il. Following the service, there will be an announcement regarding the post-service luncheon.
