Betty Jane Karsten

She was born February 1, 1924 to Harry and Mamie (Hegberg) Sarbaugh. Betty served in the United States Navy during WWII. She married Clarence Karsten.

She was a former active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Union. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors soaking up the sun. She loved spending time with family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her son, Dennis (Ruth) Karsten; her granddaughters, Christine Karsten and Jennifer (Jamie) Stanley; her great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kaitlyn, Hailey, and Isabella; and her siblings, Gertrude Aubrey, Vernon (Darlene) Sarbaugh, and Patsy (Robert) Foster.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her infant son, Gary; and her siblings, Robert Sarbaugh, Marvin Sarbaugh, Marilyn Slavin, Harriett Zenk, and Richard Sarbaugh.

Visitation will be from 12 to 2pm on Tuesday, January 19 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 17824 Jefferson St., Union. The service will be at 2pm.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
