Andrzej Ringwelski, 59, of Marengo died unexpectedly on Monday, January 9, 2012 in Mobile, Alabama. He was born July 19, 1952 in Slawno, Poland to Zygmunt and Maria Ringwelski. He married Kathleen Meyer on June 25, 1983. He was a lifelong learner, earning his Bachelor and Masters of Science degree from the Wroclaw University of Technology. After coming to the United States in 1978, he began his graduate work at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and his Post Doctorate from the University of Illinois Chicago. He was Vice President and Senior Manager of Research and Development Department at UOP, a division of Honeywell where he worked for 27 years. He was an active member of the Lions Club and the Moose Club in Harvard. He enjoyed fishing, relaxing by the fire and traveling with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his daughter, Jennifer; his brother, Jurek (Malgorzata) Ringwelski and their children, Karolina and Beata; his sister, Barbara (Jaroslaw) Sierla and their son Piotr (Barbara) and their children, Mateusz and Aleksandra; and good friends, David and Laura Abbott.
Visitation will be from 11 am until the 1 pm service on Saturday, January 14, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 6821 Main St. Union. Cremation rites to be accorded. Inlieu of flowers memorials may be given in his name to the Lions Club Scholarship fund or to the family to be established at a later date.
