William McKinley Duvall, 94, of Naples, Florida, passed away on October 28th after a long and fulfilling life. He was born on October 26th, 1930, to William and Nettie (Reed) Duvall in Meadowbrook, West Virginia. He carried a true sense of pride growing up in Rosemont, West Virginia.
After graduating from Flemington High School in 1948, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Bill proudly served his country during the Korean War.
In 1952, Bill met Margaret (Peggy) Haislip at the Taylor County Court Office while he was completing his military discharge. He told his mother that same night that he had met the woman he wanted to marry. Bill and Peggy went on to have six children, William (Ruth), Dan (Tina), Terry (Lynn), Joyce (Mark), Mark (Stacey), and David (Lynne). He had 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. His family will forever remember his love and devotion to his wife along with the guiding hand and unconditional love he provided to all.
In 1997, Bill retired as the Co-Owner and V.P. of Operations at Bliss Manufacturing and spent his time golfing, fishing, traveling, and talking politics.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Homer Duvall, Marietta Brown, Betty Cavallo, and Kib Duvall, and grandson, James Kelly.
A private family service will be held at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home, 577 E. Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, FL 34145 on Saturday, November 16th. Bill will forever be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and love for his family and friends. While his loss is deeply felt, his memory will continue to live on through the love he shared with those around him.
