It is with grief in our hearts and also praise to the Lord for the life of our beloved Shirley May Robinson, age 98, who went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 6, 2024, after being in the care of Hospice for over a year in her home. Her faith in her Lord and Savior is now sight. Shirley was an extraordinary person, without question - and all who knew her are far better off for the times they shared. She loved all and truly was an example of Philippians 2:3: To regard one another as more important than yourself, and to look out for the interest of others. This principle guided her life.
Born August 3, 1925, in Lansing MI, she was married to Harley Roe Robinson, who preceded her in death in 1987. She is also survived by 3 children, Steve (Karen) Robinson, Mary (Tom) Lee, and John (Mara) Robinson, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Andrews.
Shirley loved the Lord, the study of His Word, and served Him with her whole heart. She was a Sunday School teacher and a ladies Bible study teacher for decades. Working in her flower garden, watching, and listening to birds was a source of great joy for her as she marveled at God’s creation. She also enjoyed traveling in the US and abroad with friends and family.
Deuteronomy 33:27 comforts us with these words, “Underneath are His everlasting arms”, so rest in the comfort and arms of your heavenly father. We know that what was faith is now sight. This separation is transient, but the reunion is everlasting.
Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of His saints. Psalm 116:15
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 27, 2024 at 5:00 pm at Grace Bible Church, 1055 Pine Ridge Road, Naples, FL 34108. Shirley will be buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery next to her husband, Harley.
