Robert grew up on Cape Cod and graduated from Harwich High School in 1993, with honors, all the while working in restaurants to develop his culinary skills. His passion led him to the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, NY, receiving an associate's degree in baking and pastry arts in 1996 and a bachelor's degree in culinary arts management in 1998. His love of the food industry led his career to becoming joint venture partner for Bonefish Grill.
Robert was passionate about charitable giving, community service involvement, running marathons, attending the YMCA, golf, friends, and family. The loves of his life were his two adoring sons.
Beloved son of Ethel (Dee) Asbell Walkus of Estero, FL and Dennis Port, MA and Gerard F. Casey of Tipperary, Ireland. Devoted father of James P. and Matthew A. Asbell of Marco Island, FL. Robert was the loving stepson of the late Peter A. Walkus. Robert is also survived by his step mother, Dorothy Casey of Tipperary, Ireland; his sisters, Edel Casey of Dublin, Ireland and Geraldine Casey, of London, England as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
