He was born on June 1, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan and was one of six children. As a young adult, he proudly served in the Navy for 3 years. Following this dedication to his country, he joined his father in the alarm business and, with his passionate energy and ambitious character, went on to become the owner and operator of Midnight Burglar Alarm Systems for over 45 years.
Upon leaving active service at the young age of 20, he met the love of his life Beverly Schacher. Dick and Beverly spent a lifetime full of adventure, enjoying all of the blessings of their lifelong love. Dick displayed adoration and devotion to his beautiful wife for 72 years.
The adventure of living on an island, boating, listening to jazz music, fine dining, playing cards and endless dancing with his family created an unforgettable impact on his beautiful life and those that were fortunate enough to be a part of it. His family never got tired of hearing his incredible stories and his infectious laugh. Dick and Beverly took pride in being the longest members of the Marco Island Yacht Club.
Dick was preceded in death by his father Joseph P. Daly, mother Catherine Schmidt Daly, sister Marguerite Venable, brother Fred Daly, sister Patricia Buterokos, and son-in law John Harada. He is survived by his devoted wife Beverly, three children: Rhonda Harada of Grand Blanc, Michigan; Michael (Deanna) Daly of Prudenville, Michigan; and Jeffry Daly of Cape Coral, Florida. He leaves behind his grandchildren: Christal (David) Rembowski, Stacy (Jackson) Luce, and Lindsey Grover along with his seven great-grandchildren: Robert, Gage, Tyler, Hannah, Dylan, Brighton, Ember, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Luce Daly and brother Joseph Daly, Jr. There was nothing more important to him than family.
