Jim is survived by his loving wife of 20 plus 2 years, Laura, his brother Dan (Helen) and sister Rhoda. In addition, brother-in-law Bernie Roland, nieces: Hillary and Michelle Roland, nephews: Thaddeus and Alexander Lindsay, step-son, Julian J., and step grandchild Paige J. He is also survived by many members of the David Lindsay Clan.
Preceded in death by his father, Hugh and mother, Rhoda Lindsay and his sister Laurie Roland.
Jim graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, MN where he earned his B.A. After college he served in the US Army Reserve for six years. Jim served as the Vice President of Lindsay Bros Co. a family run business. For many years he also served on many different boards.
Jim lived a full and active life, he enjoyed lots of traveling, hunting with family and friends while meeting many new friends along the way. Jim stayed physically active throughout his life with being an avid golfer (hole in one guy) an avid tennis player and great at hockey, he loved going out jogging anywhere, he loved skiing, with one night having to spend it on the mountain until the next morning (wasn't the plan) many times he headed high up in the mountains to enjoy Heli skiing. Jim made many good friends and was a loving husband.
A Memorial Service for James will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Martin's By the Lake Church, 2801 Westwood Road, Minnetonka Beach, MN 55361. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow at 12:30 at the Lafayette Club, 2800 Northview Rd, Minnetonka Beach, MN, 55391.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in Jim's memory to a charity of your choice.
