Harry Bussey Jr. 88, formerly of Navesink, NJ was born the only child to Emma & Harry Bussey on September 22, 1933, in Union City, New Jersey. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday April 27, 2022, at his home in Singer Island, Florida.
Harry was predeceased by his wife Joyce Bussey of Marco Island, Florida, his son in-law Gary Scillieri, North Carolina and by his loving parents Harry Sr & Emma Bussey.
Harry graduated from Union Hill High School in 1951. After graduating high school, he was drafted into the army where he served as a medic during the Korean War.
He went on to study business at the University of Miami to which he became an accomplished inventor and businessman. Harry worked with his father in the display business right out of the army and quickly transitioned into plastics. Harry was an innovator in the plastics industry and holds well over 60 patents together with his son Buddy. Harry and his son Buddy worked together right up until his passing. They never missed an opportunity to speak every day to strategize and discuss the future of the business. Harry always believed you could be anything you wanted to be, it just took hard work and determination, something he not only taught his 4 children, grandchildren, but everyone one of his children’s friends. Harry never looked for praise and he was not one to boast he just went on quietly working for the ones he loved most. His dreams were seldom spoken, and his wants were few and most of the time his worries went unspoken. He was always there. A firm foundation through all our storms of life. He was a sturdy hand to hold on to in times of stress and strife. A true friend that you could turn to when times were good or bad. One of our greatest blessings is that we were lucky enough to be able to call him our Dad.
In 1957, Harry married Joyce Hildebrandt and together they had 4 beautiful children. Harry lived a wonderful and very accomplished life he always loved being among those he held closest to his heart, that was his family of which he was most proud of.
Harry was a very devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, and father in-law. He was survived by his three daughters, Donna Scillieri of Trinity, North Carolina, Holly Incitti of Arcadia, Florida, Danette Bussey of Manasquan, New Jersey, and his only son Harry III (Buddy) & his wife Doreen Bussey
of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. Harry had 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Erika Bekesi, his loving companion for her endless, selfless compassion and devotion to our father and forever we will be grateful. We sincerely Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.
Harry’s legacy will continue to live in the hearts and minds of everyone he knew. Our father with his endless knowledge and compassion for people, has touched so many lives even with people he didn’t know.
Dad, we have the highest respect for you and will continue to make you proud of us through the humbleness you taught us, the fairness in all situations and the high moral standards you instilled in us all. We will miss you dearly.
Harry will be truly missed and lovingly remembered by all his friends and family. As Harry would always say,
