Gary Allen Skiles, 86, of Marco Island, Florida, formerly of Newton, Iowa passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. There will be a private family service held at a future date.
The son of the late Berl Skiles and Doris Bartlow Skiles, Gary was born on August 28,1936 in Rushville, Illinois. Gary owned Skiles Supply, a farm fleet store in Newton, and later made his career in agricultural sales.
Gary is survived by his daughters Denise Torres, of Jacksonville, FL and Shelly Moore, of Cedar Falls, IA; grandchildren Kelsey (Derrick) Terpstra of Newton, IA, Marc (Jessica) Roush of Cedar Falls, IA, Michael Moore of Cedar Falls, IA, and Jordan (Olivia) Moore of Cedar Rapids, IA. In addition, Gary has nine great grandchildren Zane Kohlmeyer, Canaan Terpstra, Kynnedei Terpstra, Addyson Terpstra, Nolan Roush, Max Roush, Jack Roush, Calix Etzel, and Koda Moore.
Gary is also survived by his special friend, Sandy Lindsay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Marna Davis and Cheryl Clements, and wife Patty (Brayton) Skiles.
