He is survived by his wife and best friend Sandi Devlin, his devoted children Brian (Kelli) Devlin and Colleen Devlin. He was also a loving grandfather “Bampa” to his grandchildren Molly and Thomas Devlin and step-grandchildren Hannah Roth and John Mason Prince.
He is loved dearly by his nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and May Devlin and his siblings Dennis, Margaret, and Daniel Devlin.
The most kind, gracious, funny and witty man, Tommy will be missed by all. He will be celebrated by a Memorial Mass in Detroit, Michigan on Friday, December 29 at 11 AM at Most Holy Trinity Church. There will also be a memorial celebration in Marco Island, Florida in January.
Tommy was born on the Fourth of July in 1945. Fittingly, he began his young journey serving his country in the US Navy. After serving in the military he began his forty year career in an apprenticeship with the Detroit UA Pipe Fitters 636. Once a journeyman, he rose in the ranks and was elected first as Financial Secretary/ Treasurer and then as Business Manager...he was known as one of the best! Local 636 flourished and grew because of Tommy's efforts and dedication to his members. He proudly retired in Marco Island, Florida, with Sandi 16 years ago. He loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends while sitting on his patio with a cold drink telling navy and work stories. Tommy gave of himself to everyone so effortlessly. If you needed any help ever, with anything, Tommy was the guy.
Loving, brilliant, witty and a blast to be around, you will be sadly missed. We Love You, Tommy D.! Cheers!
