David Colwell of Marco Island, Florida, passed away on November 1, 2020.
David grew up on Marco Island. He was a 2010 graduate of Lely High School. He was employed as an electrician by Colwell Electric Corporation, the family business, where he worked side by side with his Dad. David was also attending The Lorenzo Walker Institute of Technology in the hopes of expanding his electrical knowledge to include marine electronics.
David was an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed hiking, scuba diving, boating, especially sail boating. He cherished the time he was able to spend out on the water, especially on his sailboat. David loved the beach, especially those that were only accessible by boat.
David was an advocate for wildlife preservation. He inspired others to become more motivated to make a difference in any way they could.
David was a talented wood worker, creating both carved furniture and artwork. His work was in high demand amongst family members and friends.
David is survived by his partner and best friend, Marc Lopez, parents Mark and Donna Colwell, sister Allycia (Joey) Anderson, niece Zoey Anne Ralph, nephews Jackson and Jeremiah Ralph and Nikolas and William Anderson.
In addition, David is also survived by an Uncle James "Mickey" McLinden, Aunt Denise "Huffy" Theckston, cousin Dan (Brooke) Theckston and niece Mary Theckston as well as many Uncles, Aunts and cousins from the Marco Island/Naples area, New York and North Carolina.
David will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. We will always remember your smile that could light up a room, your infectious laugh and your willingness to always lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Due to COVID 19, a Celebration of David's Life will be planned at a later date.
