Barbara Leta (Billington) Compton, age 81, of Naples and Marco Island, formerly of St. Louis, MO, passed on September 16,2023, in the company of her loving family. She moved to Marco Island in 1971 and worked at Tommie Barfield Elementary School for several years before beginning a successful career in real estate. This included working for the Deltona Corporation before managing, brokering, and owning several companies spanning over 40 years. She enjoyed promoting the Marco Island area and was proud to serve as a former president of the Marco Island Area Association of Realtors.
She is survived by her three sons, Kenneth (Debbie), Jeffrey (Elizabeth Page), and Ronald (Deborah), a brother, Roy (Gaye) Billington, and two granddaughters, Cayla (Compton) McDonough and Amira Compton. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gilbert, and her parents, CJ and Edith (Minshall) Billington. Her life was celebrated in a private family ceremony followed by interment in Marco Island Cemetery.
