Rita B. Schmidt

Rita B. (Wetmore) Schmidt, 95, of Marblehead, originally of Cambridge, then Winchester, Boston, Rockport, and Cambridge again, passed away after a lengthy decline. Daughter and last child of the late Sherwood “Jerry” and Elizabeth Wetmore of Cambridge. Graduate of Cambridge Latin School, class of 1934, and Radcliffe College, class of 1938. Widow of the late Arthur P. Schmidt of Winchester, Boston, and Rockport. Survived by her son, Arthur and his wife Aurora Camacho of Media, Pennsylvania; her son, Mark and his wife Alicia Andrews of Marblehead; her grandchildren, Alicia, Genevieve, and Allison; step grandchildren, Jennifer, Janie, and Anna; her great grandchildren, Antonio, Thalia, Nayeli, and Elena Paz; and step great grandchildren, Abigail and Christopher.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Avenue, Marblehead on Tuesday, October 30 at 10AM. Cremation followed by interment will be at a later date. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held at the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead on Monday, October 29 from 4-8PM.
