Priscilla J. “Pat” (Freeto) Jalbert, 89, of Marblehead, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. She was the wife of the late Raymond J. “Ray” Jalbert, who passed away January 28, 2014 at the age of 98.
Pat and Ray were married for 68 years and were together for over 70 years.
Born and raised in Marblehead, Pat was the daughter of the late Edwin A. Freeto and Helen I. (Burridge) Freeto. She attended the Gerry Elementary School and was a graduate of Marblehead High School
Pat worked for many years as a part-time sales clerk at the former Webber’s Department Store in both Salem and Beverly. When Webber’s closed, she became a part-time sales clerk at the former Empire Clothing Stores in Salem and Danvers. She started working for the Marblehead School Department in 1974, first as a teachers’ aid at the Coffin School and later as a matron at Marblehead High School. She retired in 1988.
Pat was a kind and loving individual who enjoyed her solitude but also enjoyed the company of close friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially by her son and caregiver, Paul E. Jalbert of Marblehead. She is also survived by a brother, Donald Freeto of Swampscott. Pat and Ray are together again, this time for eternity.
A funeral service will be held in the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead on Monday, March 30 at 11AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visitation will begin at 9:30AM. In lieu of flowers, please take your loved-ones out for a nice dinner and raise a toast to Pat and Ray. Even though they didn’t drink themselves they will be looking down, smiling.
