Peter J. Montville

Peter James Montville, age 72, of Salem, Massachusetts passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Peter was the beloved husband of Ruth (O'Hara) Montville with whom he shared over 30 years of marriage. Born in Marblehead on August 28, 1952 he was the beloved son of the late William A. and Dorothy (Goodwin) Montville. He graduated from Marblehead High School with the Class of 1970 and was a goalie for the hockey team.

He worked for Varian in Gloucester and for many years as master scheduler for Draeger in Danvers until his retirement.

Besides his wife Ruth, Peter is survived by his sister, Myra McLaughlin, brothers, William and Fred Montville, nephews Peter and Shawn McLaughlin, nieces Lisa Magee, Jaclyn Gromko, Sondra Jones and Leigh Montville and their families. He was predeceased by Ruth's daughter, Melissa Nolan Stevens. He also leaves Ruth's daughter A.N. Nolan of New York.

The family would like to thank the Devereux Nursing Home staff in Marblehead for their kindness to Peter and his family during his stay and their help after his passing.
