Kenneth V. Lufkin Sr. “Uncle Kenny”, 89, of Lynn, passed away on April 19, 2013. He was the husband of the late Frances (Veilleux) Lufkin. Born in Swampscott on July 4, 1923, he was the son of the late Frank and Helen (Cromwell) Lufkin.
Following his education in Lynn, he enlisted with the United States Army fighting in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII, where he was awarded a Purple Heart. After his service, he worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Swampscott for many years.
Mr. Lufkin is survived by a son, Kenneth V. Lufkin Jr. and his wife Nancy of Lynn; two daughters, Deborah McGonagle and her husband William of Billerica, and Sharon Shaw and her husband Robert of Norton; and a brother, Ronald Lufkin of NH. Brother of the late Olive (Lufkin) Bissell and Robert Lufkin. He also leaves six grandchildren and one
great-grandson as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
