It is with a heavy heart and grieving spirit that I share with you the passing of Jan Gibson Robinson. We spent many years knitting our lives together and sharing our love and joy with the many friends we shared. I will treasure the trips we took, the parties we hosted, the friends we dearly loved. I recall meeting her the first time and being magically drawn to this complicated Gemini.  I am tearful as I think of our painful parting some years ago and hold fast to the incredible moments of meeting jazz greats, hosting accomplished artists in our home, exploring the world with passion and never being limited by thoughts or negative people. 
Jan built special relationships with people based on her kindness and nonjudgemental attitude toward people who were considered different or eccentric. In Marblehead she garnered a reputation of being a fierce fighter for social justice; we fought those battles together.
I lit candles on my altar, praying that she will transcend and join her daughter Beth, her father Harvey, and her mother Emmeline.
I have lost a woman I deeply loved, a spirit that inspired me and fueled my spirit and creativity. 
We have been apart for years, J R, as I affectionately called her, but the flame of love, once ignited, burns eternally.
