Cindy Jean Maher, age 64, of Marblehead, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a lengthy illness on January 29, 2023. Cindy was the beloved partner of James Georgenes, with whom she shared 43 years of life. James was her best friend first and then became the love of her life.
Cindy was born in Salem and brought up in Lynn. She was the daughter of the late William and Irene (Vose) Maher. Cindy was a devoted mother to her sons Mark Shute and Julian Georgenes. Her legacy is her five beautiful grandchildren Anthony, Ava, Melania, Vanessa, and Mark Jr.
Cindy was the dear sister to William Maher and his wife Marlena, Karen Doros, Debra Maher- Marconi and Susan Nickola. She was predeceased by her baby sister Michele Maher; in fact Cindy passed away on the Fourth Anniversary of Michele’s passing. She also leaves behind her second family Peter, Michael, Richard, Christopher, Maria and Robert Georgenes and Patricia Smith. Cindy is survived by three aunts, and one uncle. She has left behind many nieces and nephews who loved her and will miss her.
Cindy was a CNA at J.B. Hunt Hospital in Peabody and at Union Hospital in Lynn for many years, she loved taking care of people and always had a smile and a hug for everyone. Her all-time favorite job was being a partner to James and a mother to Mark and Julian. She raised her family in Peabody and Marblehead. Cindy mostly cherished her time spent with family and friends.
One of Cindy's favorite childhood memories was singing with the chorus at school where she had solo performances, she was passionate about Jazz dance and always talked about the awards she won when she was young. Cindy will be greatly missed by her loved ones and fondly missed by all who knew her.
The Family will have a Mass and Celebration of Life on her birthday and scatter her ashes on one of her favorite beaches.
