Betty Jean Brown

Betty was born and lived in Searcy, AK before marrying her beloved husband “Brownie” and coming to live in Marblehead.

She is survived by two daughters, Sabrina Maltby of Raymond, NH and Gail Brown of Marblehead; one son predeceased Timothy Brown and predeceased husband Emerson Brown, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Betty was the first elected woman Town Clerk in Marblehead and enjoyed over 30 years of serving the public. She was a Justice of the Peace uniting couples in matrimony. Betty truly enjoyed helping others and was an active member of Grace Community Church in Marblehead.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Grace Community Church, 17 Pleasant St. Marblehead, MA 01945 on Friday, March 17th at 10AM. Burial to follow in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Visiting hours will be held in the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm St. Marblehead on Thursday, March 16th from 4 to 7PM. Donations in Betty’s honor may be made to the Music Dept. of Grace Community Church or the Alzheimer’s Assoc. 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472.
