William Buth

When World War II began Bill was the first young man from Colorado Springs, Co. to enlist the day mobilization and registration for the draft were ordered. After World War II Bill elected to remain in the service and did so until he completed 22 years. He retired on October 31, 1963 as a Lt.Col.

Before leaving the service, Bill purchased a small business franchise in the as yet undeveloped Colorado market. Known as General Business Services, the company offered accountant and comptroller services to small business enterprises. Bill retired from the company as Divisional Vice-President in 1985.

Bill visited the Hill Country during the winter months for many years prior to moving to the area permanently in 1996 after marrying Norma Jean Airhart. Bill joined Highland Lakes United Methodist Church in 1996, where he was an active member. His interests included fishing, playing golf and bridge with numerous friends that he made throughout his years in the Marble Falls area. He also enjoyed traveling, reading and watching old movies.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother Russell James Buth and his first wife, Lera. He is survived by his loving wife of sixteen wonderful years, Norma Jean; two sisters, Sylvia Ambrosia and Audrey Moulton; daughter Sandra and her husband David Forehand; step-son Glen Airhart and his wife Donna and his step-daughters Judy and husband Roger Mezick and Brenda and her husband Paul Parker. He is also survived by eight step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Highland Lakes United Methodist Church with Grady Roe officiating. Burial will be at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
