It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our generous, kind-hearted Tim.
Tim passed away on January 29, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada surrounded by love. While our hearts are broken, we take comfort knowing that his spirit is now in heaven with his mother (Priscilla Ann Faubion Jones), his father (Lucius Earl Jones) and his only sibling and younger brother (Stephen Forrest Jones).
Tim leaves his wife Eleanor and their daughter Sophia; his son Trent Jones (Rebekah Costa), his daughter Tori Jones (Will Lamb), and their mother Tandy Jones (Mike Ekhouse).
Tim will be dearly remembered by his Texas family: maternal Uncle Jim (Doris) Faubion, and his cousins David Faubion, Linda (Tim) Griner, and Zach (Emily) Griner; and fraternal Aunt Nita Dugger and his cousins Carl (Theresa) Dugger, Cheryl (Brian) Magnes, Tammy (Michael) Longoria, and Lorrie Dayton.
Tim also be missed by his Canadian family, who came to love him as a brother: John Ryan, Tim (Sid) Ryan, Katherine (Ernest) Granson, Margaret (Chris) Harris, and Pat (Sabra) Ryan and their kids (Larkin, Dieter, Claire, Olivia, Jillian, Robert, Michael, Katherine, Kennedy, and Jett) and, grandkids (Vera, Jack, Killian, and Max).
Special mention to Tim’s “brothers from other mothers” Bob Carey and Bill West who were always there for Tim even when he didn’t know he needed them.
Tim was born in Bryan, Texas on December 27, 1962, but spent most of his youth in Chilton, Texas where his father was the school principal and his mother, the school secretary. Tim’s life revolved around school – he played every sport and joined every club. He joked that this was his way of getting out of classes. He especially loved playing football and since Chilton was such a small school, at some point he got to play every position. His Dad once said Tim played so well through his sheer love of the game. He graduated as class salutatorian and soon after prom packed up his black Ford Mustang and headed out into the world.
He found work as an electrician’s apprentice but soon followed a long-held dream and signed up for the US Air Force. He spent four years as a Weapons Control Systems Specialist serving his country at home and overseas. Following his honorable discharge, he joined the oil and gas industry and established himself as a measurement instrumentation specialist. For the next 22 years, as his group moved from Haliburton to NuFlo to Cameron International. Tim continued to progress, eventually leaving Cameron as the Global Director of Service for the Measurement Systems division.
In 2014 Tim and Eleanor moved to Calgary and established Ryan-Jones Marketing Projects, LLC and Tim embraced his new role as president of pretty much everything to do with running the day-to-day business of a boutique marketing firm.
This coming year, 2024, was the year Tim planned to retire, get even better at pool, and achieve his goal of becoming a dual Canadian/American citizen. He was so close. Tim was a kind and intelligent man who carried himself with a quiet confidence. He will be missed.
Tim’s service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Fowler Cemetery in Burnet County (445-899 CR 409A, Spicewood, TX 78669) followed by a reception at the River City Grille in Marble Falls (700 1st Street Marble Falls, TX 78654) from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers please donate to a Veterans Support organization of your choice.
