Thomas Arthur Burt

Tom was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 27, 1934. He grew up in Chicago and attended LSU University where he met Martha Cannatella. The two fell in love and married on September 2, 1956. They lived most of their lives in Houston, Texas, where they raised six children. Tom worked as an accountant for Tenneco and Enterprise Products. Upon retirement, Tom and Martha moved to the Marble Falls area where they became active at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bay. They were members of St. Vincent De Paul, helped with the RCIA program, and attended Mass frequently as well as volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the ACTS retreats.

Tom liked to work with his hands and excelled at woodworking and auto mechanics. He could fix almost anything, especially classic Ford Mustangs. Tom also enjoyed camping and fishing with his family in Colorado and Florida. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his children and especially his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Martha Burt and his parents George Henry Burt and Mona Agnes Porter, as well as his two brothers George II and Robert. He is survived by his children Greg and his wife Marti of Virginia; Karen and her husband David of Austin; Donnie and his wife Belinda of Florida; Michael and his partner John, of California, Tommy and his wife Chidary of Houston, Jeff and his wife Monica of Dallas, along with 12 grandchildren, Ryan, Katherine, Bernadette, Tony, Juan, Dylan, Madison, Justin, Britton, Gavin, Joshua and Zachary; and one great grandchild, Finn.

All services will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Horseshoe Bay. Visitation: 9:30 -10:00 am, Rosary: 10:00 - 10:30 am, Funeral Mass 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
