Steve was born on October 22, 1964 in Memphis, Tennessee, the eldest of six siblings born to Gary and Susan Guthrie.
Steve spent his formative years in the Kent/Covington area of Washington state. Upon graduating from Kentwood High School, Steve joined the Army and served his country honorably as a combat engineer. After leaving the military, Steve held various jobs while attending Green River Community College where he enrolled in auto mechanic courses. This led to his career as an automotive technician, where he utilized both his exceptional knowledge and love of automobiles. Steve loved all-things cars. He was especially fond of his 1967 Chevy Chevelle SS convertible and his most recent vehicle, a 1979 Chevy Scottsdale pickup.
Steve was an avid sports fan. He loved baseball and pitched a no-hitter in his younger days. However, his favorite was basketball. If you could not find Steve, he was probably on the neighborhood basketball court showcasing his talent and schooling his friends and family in the art of the game.
Steve met the love of his life, Teresa, while working together in Kent, Washington. They married on August 13, 2001 and several years later moved to Missouri before finally settling in Marble Falls, Texas.
His love of the outdoors culminated into many camping excursions with his family throughout the states of Washington, Missouri, and Texas. While living in Washington, Steve would go inner-tubing on the Green River every summer.
Steve loved music, especially heavy metal. He loved the old groups like Van Halen, Metallica, and Led Zeppelin just to name a few.
