Sophia Lily-Ann “Lily-Bug” Medrano, Age 8, Passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of February 3, 2023 after a five year battle with cancer. Sophia had a smile that could light up a room and melt your heart. She loved to give hugs and kisses and to her no one was a stranger or an enemy. She loved unconditionally and spread love and happiness to everyone she met. Even during her long battle she had a smile on her face and was concerned with making those around her comfortable.
Sophia had many loves. She loved her family, Tigers, the Cowboys and PICKLES. She loved to sing and dance, especially to her favorite song “Can’t stop the feeling”. She also loved to watch movies and TV with her family. Her favorite movies were Trolls, Moana, Frozen, Turning Red, and Home Alone. The shows she loved to watch were Henry Danger and Friends.
Sophia had many wonderful experiences over the last few years. Sophia got the Princess Royal treatment when her family went to Disneyland in Florida. In the last few weeks she got to go on an animal Safari, an Aquarium and be the guest of Honor at a Princess party where even the boys were in dresses and make-up.
The last place Sophia wanted to see was the Beach. Shortly before her passing Sophia’s family was able to take her to Corpus Christi to fulfill that wish. She stayed in a big hotel, had the superstar treatment and was blown away by the beauty of Selena. The best part was being able to sit happily on the sand with her family and have the water wash up onto her feet.
