She was born on September 26, 1928 in Clarksville, Mississippi to Marion Hardin and Clyde Marvel Prichard.
Mrs. Peebles was reared in Lula, Mississippi in her beloved Mississippi Delta. She was a graduate of Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia, where she was elected by the student body to serve as their May Queen. She also graduated from Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts degree and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
She married Henry F. (Hank) Peebles in 1951. They lived in Atlanta and Chicago before moving to Houston in 1957 where they purchased Southern Metal Mfg. Co., and she served as Secretary and Treasurer until retirement. They moved to the Texas Hill Country in March, 1996.
Mrs. Peebles was a member of the Church of Horseshoe Bay, HW Chapter of PEO, the ladies 9 hole golf association, two bridge groups and the original 2004 Mah Jongg group.
She was preceded in death by her 17 year old son, Henry F. (Trip) Peebles III, in 1970 and her husband, Hank, in 2013.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Peebles Sisemore; grandson, Grant Sisemore and wife, Kristi, and 3 great grandsons, Tripp, Henry, and Cole Sisemore; granddaughter, Ashley Sisemore Witucki and husband, Mark. All of her family reside in Lago, Vista. Mrs. Peebles is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Roy Moore of Madison, Mississippi, and their children, Shannon and Hamp Dye, Nathan and David Dye.
At her request, there will be no memorial service.
For those I love and leave behind, remember my last plea. I am not dead. I've gone home to God. Sing no sad mourning songs for me.
