Myron B Fietz

Funeral Services will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, on Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Myron was born in Lubbock, Texas to Britt and Christine Fietz and was raised in Levelland, Texas with 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Myron and Reita Parker were married June 30th, 1954 and were blessed with 4 children.

Myron went to mortuary school in Dallas, Texas, and was a funeral director in Texas, California and Hawaii. In 1973, Myron and Reita moved to Kingsland, Texas and bought and ran River Oaks Lodge. They enjoyed many years at Lake LBJ.

While in Kingsland, Myron helped start one of the first pre-need funeral insurance companies, FDLIC, which is still very successful today. After that, he successfully opened the State of Texas for Forethought Insurance, a national pre-need company. He also started the first Llano County ambulance service in Kingsland.

In May of 1999, Myron married Janet Jones on Catalina Island and they lived in California and Hawaii. Myron’s time in the funeral industry included many years as the General Manager of all of the Hawaiian Islands cemeteries and funeral homes. Myron loved life in Hawaii. His final assignment was General Manager of the funeral homes on the island of Kauai.

In 2002, Myron and Janet returned to Texas where Myron finished his career as a funeral director, working at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls and selling pre-need funeral policies before retiring to enjoy life on the lake.

Myron is survived by his wife Janet Fietz of Kingsland, daughter Debra Bailey and husband Keary of Round Rock, daughter in law Jill Fietz of Kingsland, son Scott Fietz of Kingsland, daughter Rhonda Sledge and husband John Dee of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Johnna McQuillan and husband Nathan of Gunter, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Myron is preceded in death by his son James Truett Fietz and Samantha Smith.
