

Louis Honeycutt is survived by his children, Jeana Gail Aaron of Spicewood, Texas, Louis Joseph Honeycutt, Junior of Galena Park, Texas, Audrey Clydene “Dena” Yates of Angleton, Texas, step children, Glenn Ubernosky, Paula Steeves and Wendall Ubernosky; siblings, Al Honeycutt of Spicewood, Texas. LJ had 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Jean Honeycutt of Spicewood, Texas, mother Audrey E. Watson of Spicewood, Texas, father William C. Honeycutt of Porter Texas and brother, Bill Honeycutt of Porter, Texas.
LJ was born on January 21, 1936 in Houston, Texas to Audrey E. Honeycutt. He attended Jeff Davis High School. LJ’s proudest accomplishment was purchasing an electric company, becoming self-employed in 1967 as a master electrician.
In 1979 LJ helped form the Spicewood Beach Property Owners Association where he served on the board in various positions including President and Vice President for numerous years. He was a member of the Pasadena Rodeo Association. LJ served as an auxiliary police officer for the Galena Park Police Department. LJ was known as “King of the Derby’s” in his younger years and was highly involved in the coordinating the Annual Destruction Derby in the Astrodome in Houston, Texas. LJ was involved with the Spicewood Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years. He helped to start the annual destruction derby fund raiser for the Spicewood Volunteer Fire Department.
LJ enjoyed old country music by legends such as Kitty Wells, Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Gary Stewart and numerous other recording stars. His favorite color was blue. His hobbies were fishing, camping, racing, boating and wood crafting.
The viewing is scheduled for Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 4pm – 6pm. The funeral is scheduled for Sunday, December 28, 2014, 2pm at Clements - Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, Texas 78654. Graveside services immediately following at Holloway Cemetery in Spicewood, Texas with a reception to follow at Spicewood Beach Recreation Hall. Pastor Doug Lindley will officiate the services.
