November 21, 1939- February 10, 2023. 83 of Marble Falls, Texas and Alexandria, La passed away on Friday afternoon February 10, 2023.
Les was born on November 21, 1939, in Austin, Texas. After graduating from Marble Falls High School he married the love of his life Barbara Trussell on August 21, 1957. They had three children: Edwin Lesuell Bowles, Gwendolyn Yvonne Messina, and Darrell Leon Bowles. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Trussell Bowles, his father and mother Lester and Izola Bowles, his brother Travis Bowles and in laws Oran D. and Ruby Trussell. Those left behind to keep the memory of his love and affection alive include his son Edwin Bowles and his wife Charlotte of Alexandria, La. His daughter Gwen Messina and her husband, T.A. of Alexandria, La and son, Darrell Bowles of Marble Falls, Texas and Alexandria, La. Grandchildren include Brittany Kinnamon of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Tony Messina of Scott, La. Chad Bowles of Lafayette, La. Nicky Messina of Alexandria, La. Joey Messina of Ruston, La and Amanda Messina of Alexandria, La. Their spouses include Brock, Brooke, Kaycee, Kayli and Chaz. There are also 11 great grandchildren. We would be remiss without mentioning Jake, his loyal dog and friend. He is survived by his sister Bonnie Disney and husband Vernon Disney, sister Susie Hill and husband Mike Hill. His brother-in-law Leroy and Bobby Trussell and their wives Sandra and Mary and along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Les was an avid fisherman and competed in several national fishing tournaments. After moving to Alexandria, La he earned his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying in his spare time and taking the family on vacations in the plane.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. A Christian burial will be celebrated for Lesuell at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home with Rev. Bo Henry officiating. Interment will follow at Marble Falls City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Chad Bowles, Brittany Kinnamon, Tony Messina, Nicky Messina, Joey Messina and Amanda Messina.
